What is fat freezing?
The treatment
Do you suffer from excess fat?
Sometimes you might suffer from excess fat, which doesn't disappear despite exercise or dieting. Cryolipolysis can offer a solution. This treatment is effective in reducing and permanently removing excess fat by freezing the problem area.
Fat freezing can be applied to the following areas:
- Double chin
- Arms/upper arms
- Love handles
- (Lower) abdomen
- Bra bulges/back fat
- Thighs and upper legs
What is cryolipolysis (fat freezing)?
Cryolipolysis, also known as "fat freezing," is a safe and relatively fast way to remove stubborn fat. By freezing the fat cells, they die and are naturally eliminated by the body. Once eliminated, fat cells do not return and are therefore permanently removed. Fat freezing allows you to remove excess fat in a targeted area.
The benefits of fat freezing are:
- Fat freezing removes fat without surgery
- Fat freezing is easy and painless
- The results are visible after just a few treatments
- Fat cells are broken down naturally
- Remove grease from specific areas
How does fat freezing work?
MedCos BodyWizard
For fat freezing treatments, we use the MedCos Body-Wizard. This device is a leader in cryolipolysis equipment. With this device, we can effectively, quickly, and painlessly reduce and/or permanently remove excess fat.
The MedCos Body Wizard reduces fat in the problem area by an average of 20% per treatment. The Body Wizard freezes fat cells so the body can eliminate them naturally.
How does fat freezing work?
- Step 1 The intake interview
During the initial consultation for fat freezing, our certified skin therapist will thoroughly examine the problem area and then perform an analysis. She will assess whether fat freezing is suitable for you. Based on this analysis, the skin therapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan for fat freezing.
- Step 2 Cryolipolysis (fat freezing)
The first step in fat freezing is marking the area to be treated and cleansing the skin. Next, we apply a moist tissue to protect the skin during the fat freezing procedure. Finally, the MedCos Bodywizard applicator is placed on the skin, after which it creates a vacuum.
The exact duration of the treatment depends on the area being treated and the appointments with the skin therapist. During the treatment, you can watch a movie, read a book, or simply relax. The MedCos Bodywizard applicator then cools the skin. The applicator reaches a temperature of -11 degrees Celsius, bringing the subcutaneous fat layer to approximately 2 degrees Celsius. This ensures that the fat layer is cold enough to break down later. The process of cooling the skin is called cryolipolysis, or fat freezing.
- Step 3 After fat freezing
After the treatment, the skin therapist will give the skin an intensive massage for two minutes. The skin may sometimes appear a little red, but don't worry: this redness disappears on its own within an average of half an hour.
Does fat freezing hurt?
Cryolipolysis, or fat freezing, is painless. You may experience a tingling or pulling sensation during the treatment. You may also feel some cold or warm sensations during the treatment. This may feel uncomfortable, but the treatment is painless.
Fat freezing result
The optimal results are visible approximately two to three months after fat freezing. You can already notice a difference after just six weeks. After two months, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled to assess the results and discuss the treatment and the follow-up period. The skin therapist can also assess the effectiveness of the treatment and whether further treatments are necessary.
On average, there is a period of 8-12 weeks between treatments, allowing the skin time to recover and remove fat cells.
How many treatments do I need?
The exact number of fat freezing treatments you need varies from person to person. This depends on the problem area, the amount of fat, and the desired result. During the initial consultation, the skin therapist can provide an estimate of the number of fat freezing treatments needed to achieve the desired result.
When the result of the first treatment is visible after 6-8 weeks, a decision can be made as to whether the desired result has been achieved or whether further treatments are necessary.
