What is pigment laser?

The treatment

Do you suffer from hyperpigmentation, an uneven skin tone, and age spots? Then our pigment laser might be the solution! Hyperpigmentation on the face can be very cosmetically disturbing.

The Quanta System Duetto MT EVO

The new revolutionary laser, the Quanta System Duetto MT EVO, reduces hyperpigmentation. How exactly does laser treatment work? The laser is a light source operating at a specific wavelength (Alexandrite 755 nm), which is absorbed by melanin (pigment), heating up the pigment spot and ultimately destroying it without damaging the surrounding tissue. Results are visible for several months after treatment, so patience is essential.

How many treatments are needed?

The laser treatment must be repeated an average of 1 to 4 times, with a treatment interval of 3 to 4 weeks. The desired result is an average 60 to 100% reduction in pigmentation, with the exception of (pregnancy) hormones, certain medications, and UV radiation. The number of treatments also depends on the type and depth of the pigment. Results may vary from person to person.

Are there treatment alternatives? Yes, you can also reduce hyperpigmentation using camouflage therapy, microneedling, or peels (Cosmelan from Mesoestetic). Discuss the options with one of our skin therapists.

Indications

The pigment laser can be used for the following indications:

  • café-au-lait spot (pigment spots)
  • solar lentigo (age spots).
