Laser treatment

During our laser treatment, your comfort is our top priority. That's why we provide a quiet workspace with both comfort and privacy. The laser treatment will take place in a private room where you can relax. Our skin therapist will then go over the laser treatment with you once again.

At the beginning of the laser treatment, the skin therapist will first mark the area to be treated. Your eyes will be shielded from the laser light during the treatment.

During laser treatment, the pigment in the hair follicles absorbs the laser's light, damaging the stem cells responsible for hair growth. This allows us to significantly reduce and/or remove the hairs being treated. After the laser treatment, the treated area is cared for. The skin therapist applies a cool, soothing cream to allow the skin to recover.

A laser treatment takes approximately 10 to 90 minutes. The duration of your treatment depends on the area being treated.

Skin types

Thanks to the GentleMax Pro, we can treat a variety of skin types. Laser hair removal is suitable for both dark and light skin. Our skin therapist is happy to discuss the options for your skin type with you, ensuring you always receive the right laser treatment. We treat your skin with care, so safety is paramount. A personalized treatment plan ensures that the laser hair removal is tailored to your skin. Every skin is unique and therefore requires a different treatment.

How many laser treatments do I need?

To permanently* remove hair, you'll need an average of 6 to 8 laser treatments. These treatments are performed with breaks of 4 to 8 weeks. Not every hair is in the same growth phase, so we can't permanently remove all hairs in a single laser treatment. Hairs that are in the active growth phase approximately six weeks later will be removed during the next treatment.

Laser hair removal can be used for the following indications:

• Pigmented hair
• Excessive hair growth: hirsutism and hypertrichosis
• PCOS

You cannot undergo the treatment if you have the following indications and/or characteristics:

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Epilepsy
• Acute active infections (herpes simplex/cold sores) in the treated area
• Fever
• Presence of a pacemaker
• Eczema and Psoriasis
• Scleroderma
• Tendency to keloid scars
• Raised lesions in the treated area (moles)
• Tattoos in the treatment area
• Sunburned skin or tanned skin
• Recent chemical peel/dermapen treatment in the treatment area
• skin cancer, radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy in the past 5 years.

Always wait two weeks before scheduling a treatment after stopping certain medications. If you have any doubts about whether a particular medication could affect your treatment, please always contact us.

Aftercare laser treatment

After the laser treatment, you may feel some warmth and redness, which can often last for several hours. Don't worry: this is completely normal.

Exposure to sunlight or tanning beds should be avoided during and for at least six weeks before any subsequent laser treatments. The same applies to the use of self-tanning creams.

In addition, it is important that the hairs are not plucked, waxed or removed with depilatory cream, but you can shave the hairs during the laser treatment process.

The area to be treated should be applied several times a day with sunscreen with SPF 50.

Avoid the sauna/hammam and swimming pool for 48 hours after the treatment.

Intense physical exertion and hot showers are not recommended for up to 24 hours after treatment.
