PRP Treatment
What is PRP?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) for the face is a natural skin-rejuvenating treatment that uses plasma from your own blood to stimulate skin renewal and collagen production. Also known as the Vampire Facial , it's often used for skin improvement, wrinkle reduction, and the treatment of scars or pigmentation.
How does PRP work?
1. Blood collection: A small amount of blood is taken, similar to a regular blood test.
2. Centrifugation: The blood is separated in a special centrifuge, isolating the plasma with a high concentration of platelets and growth factors.
3. Application to the skin: The PRP is applied to the skin via:
- Microneedling: where small needles help absorb the PRP into the skin.
- Injections: to deliver the PRP deeper into the skin layers.
This method stimulates natural skin renewal, collagen production and elastin production.
Where can PRP be applied?
PRP can be used for:
- Face: Fine lines, wrinkles, dull skin, pigmentation and acne scars.
- Hair: against hair loss and thinning hair.
- Neck and décolleté: Firming and evening out the skin.
- Hands: Rejuvenation and reduction of age spots.
Who is PRP suitable for?
PRP is ideal for people who:
- Want to improve their skin in a natural way.
- Want to reduce fine lines, wrinkles or scars.
- Want to refresh dull, tired skin.
- Don't want to use synthetic fillers or Botox.
Not suitable for blood disorders, pregnancy, breastfeeding or active skin infections.
What is the treatment like?
1. Intake interview: Discussion of your wishes and skin condition.
2. Preparation: The skin is cleaned and, if necessary, anesthetized with a cream.
3. Blood collection and centrifuge: The PRP is removed from your blood.
4. Application: With microneedling or injections, the PRP is introduced into the skin.
5. Aftercare: The skin may be a little red, but there is little recovery time required.
How quickly do you see results?
- Immediately after the treatment: slight redness and a fresh glow.
- After 2-3 weeks: visible improvement in skin texture and firmness.
- After 3 months: optimal results because collagen continues to build up.
For long-lasting effects , 3 treatments are recommended with intervals of 4-6 weeks.
Are there any side effects?
PRP is safe because it uses the body's own material. Possible side effects include:
- Redness and swelling: Usually subsides within 24-48 hours.
- Mild bruising: Especially with injections.
- Sensitivity or tightness: May last for several days.
- Allergic reaction: Very rare, as no external substances are used.
