Clinique Elixir offers both the Dermapen® and Dermapen 4® treatments. The Dermapen 4® is an extension of the current Dermapen and offers the most ultimate and advanced microneedling system.

Microneedling using the Dermapen is a technique in which small channels are created in the skin using sterile vibrating needles. In response to these small channels, a natural wound healing process is initiated. This causes the skin to repair itself, releasing various growth factors that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. During this healing process, the skin will appear more resilient, supple, smoother, and fresher.

In addition to the natural skin reaction, we work with serums that are adapted to the indication of your skin.

The Dermapen treatment can be repeated every 2-4 weeks, depending on the skin condition and indication. By treating in a series (3-5 treatments), deeper skin problems, such as scars and pigmentation, can be addressed. The number of treatments required varies per person and indication.

Are combination treatments possible? You can combine the treatment with mesotherapy Skinboosters to optimize the results. You could also alternate a course of treatments with peels.

Besides being used as a treatment to keep the skin fresh and even, the Dermapen is often used for:

• Fine lines
• Dry skin
• Dehydrated skin
• Large pores
• Scars (except hypertrophic or keloid scars)
• Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (residual acne)
• Pigment spots (freckles)
• Rosacea
• Stretch marks

You cannot undergo the treatment if you have the following indications and/or characteristics:

• Active acne
• Active infections (herpes simplex/cold sores, fungal infection)
• Medication (antibiotics, blood thinners)
• Eczema and Psoriasis
• Scleroderma
• Dermatitis
• (Sensitivity to) keloid scars and hypertrophic scars
• raised lesions (moles, warts)
• Sunburned skin
• Diabetic
• Telangiectasias
• Recent chemical peel/dermapen treatment in the treatment area
• Allergy to the serum
• skin cancer, radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy in the past 5 years.

Always wait two weeks before scheduling a treatment after stopping certain medications. If you have any doubts about whether a particular medication could affect your treatment, please always contact us.

Aftercare Dermapen

After the treatment, you may feel some warmth. Redness may also occur, which often lasts for 24-48 hours.

Wearing makeup is not recommended for 12 hours after the treatment.

Exposure to sunlight or tanning beds should be avoided during and at least 4 weeks before each (subsequent) treatment.

The area to be treated should be treated with SPF 50 several times a day.

Avoid the sauna/hammam and swimming pool for 48 hours after the treatment.

Intense physical exertion and hot showers are not recommended for up to 24 hours after treatment.
